At home in Chestnut Hill, the Boston College Eagles improved to 5-4 on the season with the 37-31 win over Syracuse. Running back Kye Robichaux rushed for 28 times for 198 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Eagles’ offense. Quarterbacks Thomas Castellanos and Grayson James each tossed a touchdown pass in the win as well. For Syracuse, quarterback Kyle McCord completed 31 of 48 passes for 392 yards and 2 touchdowns and running back LeQuint Allen rushed for 2 touchdowns for the Orange. Six other Yellow Jackets contributed to 271 yards rushing as a team. Miami quarterback Cam Ward threw for 348 yards and 3 touchdowns, but came up just short.
In Atlanta, the #4-ranked Miami Hurricanes fell to Georgia Tech, 28-23. Georgia Tech relied on their running game and defense to pull off the upset. Late in the game, Miami had the ball with a chance to drive and score for the win, but GT’s Romello Height had the strip sack and forced Cam Ward to fumble the ball and secured the Yellow Jackets victory. Quarterback Haynes King led the GT rushing attack with 93 yards and a touchdown and running back Jamal Haynes rushed for 83 and a touchdown as well.
